Vorsätze, Pläne, Neuigkeiten

Das mit den Blogbeiträgen ist so eine Sache. Manchmal habe ich total viel Lust und Zeit neue Beiträge zu verfassen, ein andermal kann ich mich gar nicht aufraffen etwas zu schreiben.
Das liegt natürlich nicht daran, dass ich gar nicht schreiben will, sondern dass ich eine begrenzte Menge Zeit zur Verfügung habe und diese dann doch immer eher zum Stricken oder Häkeln verwende. Dabei ist das eigentlich eine Schande, denn es sind im letzten halben Jahr so viele tolle neue Sachen entstanden, dass es schade wäre, wenn ich sie noch länger ungezeigt lassen würde.
Mittlerweile ist mein letzter Eintrag ein halbes Jahr her und ich muss mir erstmal einen Überblick über die ganzen Projekte verschaffen, die 1. in der Zwischenzeit fertig geworden sind und 2. über die es noch keinen Blogeintrag gibt. Zum Glück pflege ich meine ravelry-Datenbank ziemlich genau – da kann man sich dann auch rückblickend noch ein Bild machen.
Was mir beim ersten Blick auf die Liste auffällt? Es sind wirklich viele Projekte!!! Da weiß ich so spontan gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll. Vielleicht wäre das eine gute Gelegenheit einen neuen Vorsatz zu fassen. Das wäre dann schon der Zweite in diesem Jahr 🙂 Mein erster Vorsatz lautete dieses Jahr nämlich ernsthaft: stash-busting and no yarn-shopping! Alle Handarbeitsverrückten wissen: ein sehr ehrgeiziger Vorsatz. Aber es ist mittlerweile November, der Großteil des Jahres also vorbei und ich kann mit Stolz sagen: es hat (fast) geklappt.
Bis Mai habe ich wirklich kein einziges Knäuel Wolle gekauft – also…. nicht, dass ich dadurch einen Mangel an Wolle gehabt hätte 😀 aber es fällt mir einfach wirklich schwer, nicht ab und an diese überall auffindbare, wunderschöne Wolle zu kaufen – die Verlockungen sind allgegenwärtig, ob online oder auch lokal im Wollgeschäft.
Im Mai hatte ich dann Geburtstag und habe mir von meinem Herzallerliebsten ein Strickset von weareknitters gewünscht. Die Box bestand aus insgesamt 5 Knäueln Pima Cotton Wool, 2 Anleitungen (eine stricken, eine häkeln), ein Aufbewahrungstäschchen und zwei Blatt lustige Sticker. Juhuuu! Ich hatte neue Wolle bekommen OHNE meinen Vorsatz zu brechen.

Es kam aber noch besser: denn ebenfalls zu meinem Geburtstag erhielt ich von den „großen“ Kindern einen Einkaufsgutschein für den weareknitters-Onlineshop. OMG!!!! Noch mehr Wolle für mich! Von diesem Gutschein habe ich mir 10 Knäuel einer ganz besonderen Wolle gekauft: Recycled Yarn. Dabei handelt es sich um alte Jeansfasern, die aufbereitet und zu einem Baumwoll-Garn verarbeitet wurden. Die erhältlichen Farben beschränkten sich auf eher gedeckte Farbtöne grau, creme, schwarz, blau und dunkelrot. Ich fand sie alle toll! Entschieden habe ich mich für hellblau und dunkelrot.

Insofern war mein Vorsatz also noch nicht gebrochen. Doch dann kam der Sommer. Und das bedeutet, dass ich euch von dem großen Glück erzählen muss, das mir beruflich widerfahren ist. Zu Beginn des Jahres beschloss ich, mir eine neue Stelle zu suchen. Und abgesehen davon, dass man bei so einer Veränderung zuallererst die fachliche Kompetenz und die generellen Jobbedingungen im Auge hat, ist es auch immer eine Veränderung des Personenkreises, mit dem man sich dann künftig umgibt. Im April habe ich also bei meinem neuen Arbeitgeber angefangen und nach und nach meine direkten Kollegen seither auch immer besser kennengelernt. Halleluja! Abgesehen davon, dass alle echt super nett sind und ich mich kollegial sehr angekommen fühle, stellt sich doch tatsächlich heraus, dass meine zwei direkten Kolleginnen meine Leidenschaft für Wolle und Handarbeiten teilen! Das ist ja wie ein 6er im Lotto 🙂
Seither tauschen wir uns über neue Projekte, Wollfunde, Anleitungen und auch mal die ein oder andere Handarbeitspanne aus. Es macht riesig Spaß! Und nunja, ganz konnte ich meinen Vorsatz dann doch nicht einhalten, als ich zusammen mit einer Kollegin noch einmal etwas bei weareknitters bestellt habe. Die Farbe dieser Schurwolle ist einfach zu knuffig, um sie nicht zu haben. Aus dieser Wolle in der Farbe Marshmallow werde ich ein Schafkissen für Niclas stricken.

Im August ging es außerdem für mich und die Kinder noch eine Woche in den bayerischen Wald und für diesen Zweck habe ich mir von Lana Grossa ein Farbverlaufsgarn in sommerlichem Gelb bestellt. Ich sollte vielleicht noch erwähnen, dass diese Bestellung mehr oder minder sinnlos dazubestellte Sockenwolle enthielt 🙂

Soweit so gut. Weitere Vorsatz-Vergehen habe ich für 2019 nicht zu vermelden – und unter uns: ich bin ziemlich stolz, dass ich das bisher so gut durchgehalten habe. Mit Zuversicht blicke ich den restlichen 3 Monaten dieses Kalenderjahres entgegen. Abgesehen davon liegt mein Hauptaugenmerk derzeit eh auf der Fertigstellung bereits begonnener Projekte und das Material dafür habe ich ja schon zu Hause.
Hier jetzt also der Plan – oder Vorsatz – wie es mit meinem Blog in den nächsten Wochen weitergehen wird: ich werde im zweiwöchentlichen Rhythmus neue Beiträge eintakten, die langsam aber sicher die fertigen Projekte zeigen werden. Wahrscheinlich werde ich dabei die Fertigstellungsreihenfolge nicht einhalten können – ist ja aber auch nicht schlimm denke ich.
Ach ja, und dann möchte ich noch kurz von meinem anderen Plan berichten, der sich auf meine Strickstücke bezieht: die visuelle Darstellung. Gerne würde ich in Zukunft meine selbstgemachten Kleidungsstücke oder anderweitigen Produkte schöner in Szene setzen und habe da auch schon Kontakt aufgenommen, damit da mal ordentliche Fotos herauskommen. Ob, wie und wann ich/wir das schaffen, weiß ich noch nicht. Aber es ist definitiv ein Ziel :-).

Sometimes it’s kind of a hard things to keep on writing new blog posts and sometimes it’s a piece of a cake for me.
When I am not writing new blog posts, it is not caused by missing motivation. It depends on how I use my available free-time. Most of the time I have, I prefer to knit or crochet instead of writing new posts. But it will be a pity NOT to show you all these nice things I did in the last year.
I realized, that my last post on the blog is from april – a half a year ago. And I have to sum up first which projects have been completed since then and haven’t been shown here. I am lucky to have a good and complete database online in my ravelry account. It should be possible to get into it.
I had a short view on my list on ravelry and yes, there are a lot of projects I have to write about soon. To start with it can be a good resolution – the second one in this year. The first resolution I have in 2019 is: stash-busting and no yarn-shopping! All knitting-addiced persons know: hard to handle this resolution.
But, it is October now and so the main part oft he year is over and I can proudly announce that I (nearly) did it!
I haven’t bought even one skein of wool since may, altough I found everywhere allurement – online and in local stores.
And then my birthday came in may and I got a box-set by weareknitters from my boyfriend. It contained 5 skeins of Pima Cotton yarn, 2 patterns, a nice little bag and some cute and funny stickers. Ha! I got new yarn WITHOUT breaking my resoluton.
But it came much better then: I also got a shopping-card for the online-shop of weareknitters from the older kids and I used it to buy 10 skeins of a very special yarn: Recycled Yarn. It is made out of old jeans, which are refined and reworked to a fine cotton yarn. The available colors are naturally tones in grey, white, black, blue and darkred. I loved them all and decided to take light blue and red.

Well, my resolution wasn’t broken until summer. But then I made some greater changes in my life. In the beginning of 2019 I decided to search for a new employment. And of course, you focus on professional competence and general conditions, when you choose out of several opportunities. But in the end it is not less important to match with the colleagues in your new job. And so I discovered soon after my start in April, that I hit the bullseye with that decision. While I get my colleagues known in the first months, we found out, that both of them share my love to wool, knitting and self-made stuff. Since then it is so much fun to find new patterns and wool-options together and talk about current projects. Unfortunately this circumstance forced me to brake with my resolution and so we ordered some very beautiful yarn together this summer. It is a very colorful yarn by weareknitters, called marshmallow and I will work a sheep-cushion for my son with it.

Short before my summerholiday in august, I broke my resolution for the second time. I ordered online 3 skeins of Lana grossa cool wool Lino degrade in yellow. This is thought to be a sweater later.

So far, so good. I am kind of proud, that I knitted the most of this years projects with stash yarn and I think I will keep going in this next year again. I also try to finish some WIP’s in the 2 months left in 2019. Regarding to my second resolution this year: I plan to work harder and more constant on my blog posts. I want to write the more constant, maybe a blog post every two weeks and so I think I am able to show you all of my finished projects within the next months. I can be, that the chronology of their completion is mixed up, but I think, this is not the most important thing of my blog 😉

Ah, and then there is the plan to create a more professional niveau of my project photos. A friend of mine is good in photography and we both talked about giving it a try. I am not sure when we will start with it, but it’s definitely a target for the future 😉
