Wisst ihr, was wirklich verrückt ist? Wenn man ein Paar Tage vor Weihnachten für sich selbst ganz spontan ein Paar Socken anschlägt – einfach, weil man Lust dazu hat. Und das, obwohl man (also ich) noch schnell Geschenke fertig stricken muss.
Ich wollte mich schon lange mal etwas mehr mit der mehrfarbigen Strickerei auseinander setzen und so nutzte ich die Chance, es bei diesen Socken aus 8-fädiger Wolle zu versuchen. Ich habe allerdings keine 8-fädige Wolle verwendet, sondern schlicht zwei Fäden Regia Tweed doppelt verstrickt. Ist im Prinzip ja auch das gleiche.
Als im Schaft des Sockens dann der Farbteil kam, in dem ich braun (auch Faden doppelt) gegen naturfarben tauschte, ging es am Anfang noch ganz gut. Ich konnte dem Muster gut folgen und nach den ersten drei Reihen fand ich das Ergebnis ganz sehenswert. Ein bisschen schwierig ist es allerdings schon, die richtige Fadenspannung zu halten, sodass der Faden weder zu locker noch zu stramm auf der Rückseite gespannt ist. Ich vermute, das ist wie alles im Leben, einfach Übungssache.
Ich modifizierte die Strickschrift etwas, die ich als Vorlage verwendete und strickte munter weiter. Als ich mit dem gesamten zweifarbigen Teil fertig war, stellte ich allerdings fest, dass mir da wohl irgendein Fehler unterlaufen sein muss. Auf der einen Seite des Sockens sah alles normal aus, auf der anderen hatte ich ein völlig anderes Muster
Nunja, ich strickte den Socken trotzdem zu Ende, letztlich trage ich sie ja nur zu Hause und würde sie auch nicht verschenken. Ich nahm mir dennoch vor, bei Socke Nummer 2 besser auf die Ausführung des Musters zu achten. Alles begann gut, wie auch schon zuvor, doch nach Abschluss des zweifarbigen Bereichs musste ich herzhaft lachen. Wieder unterschied sich das Muster auf Vorder- und Rückseite des Sockens. Was aber noch viel mehr zum Lachen war: anscheinend war mir das Muster anders verrutscht, als bei Nummer 1 und so habe ich nun zwei verschiedene Socken, die in sich auch noch unterschiedlich aussehen.
Herrlich! Da werde ich in Zukunft noch ganz schön üben müssen fürchte ich 🙂 Trotzdem mag ich sie, sie sind wunderbar warm und weich.
Do you know what’s really crazy? To cast on a new pair of socks for myself, just because I was keen on doing that. And although I had several projects to finish right before christmas anyway. I wanted to try multi-colored knitting for a long time now and I thought that would be a good beginning to try it, this time with thick wool. I took two strands of fingering sock yarn together and knitted with needles 4mm in color Regia Tweed natural. When I reached the section, where I had to substitue some stitches with the contrast color (I used a warm Brown), I did good progress in the beginning and everything was ok. I think it is a bit tricky to get the right tension of the yarn, to have not to much or less yarn on the backside between the stitches. But it is like everything in life, you have to practise, if you want to master it.
I modified the two-colored pattern a bit, which I used for these socks and knitted happily until the end of the colored section. But then I saw the result and it was obvious, that I did any mistake along knitting on one of the needles. The pattern I saw, was not the same on the front and back side of the sock. Well, I finished it anyway. These socks will be worn only by me at home, so no matter about that mistake. But I thought, that I have to concentrate myself more, when knitting the second sock to avoid further faults.
Everything was good in the beginning of this sock, but in the end… same result: I did a mistake with the pattern and had different looking sock on front and back. Really curious is (and I laughed a lot about it): it also differs from sock to sock! Hahaha, I think I have to practise a lot in the future with this knitting technique. Nevertheless, I like them and they are very warm and cozy!
