Ich finde es ist mal wieder an der Zeit ein Update zu machen und selbst zu prüfen, wie weit ich nun schon mit diesem Langfrist-Projekt gekommen bin. Seit nunmehr 2 1/2 Jahren häkle ich immer wieder zwischenrein diese kleinen Merino-Quadrate in allen Farben, damit ich daraus am Ende eine Patchworkdecke zusammensetzen kann. Diese wird dann eine Gesamtfläche von ca. 220cm x 200cm haben.
Für alle, die nicht wissen, warum diese Decke „Freundschaftsdecke“ heißt: ich bekomme immer wieder zum Geburtstag und zu Weihnachten von einigen meiner Freunde neue Knäuel mit tollen Farben geschenkt. Damit habe ich zu manchen Farben dann einen direkten Bezug zu Menschen, die ich liebe – was dem fertigen Projekt am Ende einen ganz eigenen, emotionalen Charakter verleihen wird.
Ich habe die Farbauswahl von Anfang an bewusst nicht auf ein bestimmtes Spektrum begrenzt, was zur Folge hat, dass die Decke dann kunterbunt werden wird. Auf der einen Seite ist dies zwar schön, denn dann hat man noch mehr Farben zur Auswahl, auf der anderen Seite habe ich mir während des Häkel-Prozesses nun immer wieder die Frage gestellt, ob eine bunte Decke überhaupt farblich in mein Schlafzimmer passt. Insgesamt halte ich alles in meiner Wohnung eher gedeckt, das heißt hauptsächlich schwarz/weiß/grau – so auch das Schlafzimmer. Als Akzentfarbe sind der Teppich, der Schrank und sogar Teile der Bettwäsche in kräftigem Rot gehalten. Ich werde also irgendwann eine kunterbunte Tagesdecke in einem Raum haben, der mit roten Highlights ausgestattet ist. Da weiß ich ehrlich nicht, ob mir das gefallen wird.
ABER! Ha, jetzt kommt das große Aber 🙂 Ich habe ja immernoch die Tatsache mit dem emotionalen Wert dagegenstehen. Und das treibt mir doch gleich wieder ein Lächeln auf die Lippen. Ich sehe mich selbst schon vor meinem Bett stehen, auf meinem roten Teppich, vor meinem roten Kleiderschrank und werde glücklich meine Freundschaftsdecke bewundern….. wenn sie denn mal fertig ist.
Nun zum Fortschritt des Entstehens. Bisher gehäkelt habe ich folgende Mengen:
bunte, innere Quadrate: 105
fertige Quadrate (also inkl. weißer Umrandung): 28
Quadrate gesamt: 133
Nach meinen letzten Messungen brauche ich für die gesamte Decke eine Anzahl von 14 x 17 also 238 Quadraten. Der prozentuale Fortschritt liegt bei 55,8%. Gerechnet auf die bisher benötigte Zeit ist das voraussichtliche Fertigstellungs-Datum also der 23.08.2018
I think it’s time to do an update of my longterm-project and to have a look how far I have been done with it now. Since 2 ½ years I am crocheting these little Merino-squares in all colors so that it will become a patchwork-blanket. It will measure 220cm x 200cm in the end.
For all, who don’t know why it’s called „friendship-blanket“: some of my friends give me skeins of that yarn for christmas or for my birthday. So I liaise these gifted colors with people I love and this will give the finished project a very personal and emotional touch.
From the very beginning I didn’t set a limit for colors for this project. This will result in a very colorful blanket. On the one hand this is nice, because I can choose from all colors of the rainbow, on the other hand I am more and more thinking about the finished blanket and if it will fit in my sleeping room at all. My home is mainly kept in neutral colors like white/black/grey. The highlighting color in my sleeping room is a strong red, i.e. the carpet, parts of my wardrobe and even some pieces of my bedding. What will happen is, that some day there will lie a rainbow-blanket in a red-colored room. Honestly, I don’t even know if I am gonna like that.
But! Ha, now I can say but… There is this emotional thing with it. The emotional worth will bring a smile on my face. I see myself staying on my red carpet in front of my red wardrobe, looking on my bed with a multicolored bedspread on it and I will feel felicitously about it….. when it is finished some day.

After my last measurement I will need a total of 14 x 17 = 238 squares. The percental progress is 55,8%. Calculated to the time I needed until now, the estimated finishing-date will be August, 23th 2018.
