Manch einer nennt es (S)ocktober, ich einfach die Lust im Herbst warme, kuschelige Fußbekleidung herzustellen. Mittlerweile ist es draußen so kalt, dass ich ohne Heizung nicht mehr auf meiner Couch sitzen möchte. Also wird schnell der Kamin angeschürt und wenn die wohlige Wärme sich im Wohnzimmer verteilt, macht das Stricken zu Hause – eingemummelt in eine Decke – doch gleich wieder Spaß.
Diesmal habe ich für mich und für Anna je ein Paar Herbst-Kuschelsocken fertig gestellt.
Mein Paar (Größe 39) ist gefertigt aus flauschiger Wolle, die eigentlich nicht für Socken gedacht ist. Das Hauptproblem beim Verarbeiten bestand in der fehlenden Elastizität des Garns selbst. Deshalb habe ich mich beim Schaft für 1R/1L entschieden, um für etwas Elastizität zu sorgen und vor der Ferse pro Nadel eine Masche zugenommen, damit man gut in den Socken schlüpfen kann. Und auch an der benötigten Maschenanzahl pro Runde musste ich erst ein bisschen schrauben, denn ich benötigte am Ende für Socken meiner Größe nur 9 Maschen pro Nadel (zum Vergleich: bei 4-fädiger Sockenwolle wären es 16 pro Nadel). Das Ringelmuster in Blautönen ist genau nach meinem Geschmack und ich bin mit dem Resultat auch ganz zufrieden.
Frieren soll natürlich auch Anna nicht. Deshalb hat sie auch ein Paar kuschelwarmer Wintersocken bekommen (Größe 32). Dabei habe ich Reste verwertet von Sockenwolle, die ich noch zu Hause hatte und die nicht mehr allein für ein Paar gereicht hätten. Eins davon war die NEON-Wolle, aus der ich Anna schonmal Handschuhe gemacht habe. Über den Farbeffekt in der fertigen Socke habe ich mich sehr gefreut, ist ganz cool geworden. Anna gefällt’s jedenfalls 😉
Someone would call it (S)October, for me it is only fun to knit warm and cuddly socks in autumn. The weather outside turned really cold these days, I didn’t want to sit on my sofa without heating anymore. So I made a fire in my fireplace and when the warmth is streaming through the house, knitting is pure fun at home.
This time I did a pair of socks for me and for Anna.
My own pair (size 39) is made with a yarn which isn’t meant to be knitted in sock patterns. The main problem was the missing elasticity. For the cuff I decided to make 1k 1p to improvise a little bit elasticity. Before the beginning of the heel, I increased 4 stitches in the round so that I am able to come in with my feet. And after the heel I decreased again up to 9 stitches per needle (36 in round). Although there were some improvisations to do, I am really confident with the result in the end.
Anna doesn’t have to freeze, too. She got also one pair of new knitted socks (size 32). I used stash yarn, leftovers for them. I held two strands of fingering yarn together and knitted with needle size 4mm. One strand was NEON-colored wool from which I have already made a pair of mittens for Anna. The combined colors of these two yarns turned out beautiful and Anna was satisfied in the end, so I were, too. 😉
