Parallel zur Teilnahme an Kirsten Kapur’s MKAL habe ich mich an ein neues Projekt gewagt, das schon lange auf meiner To-Do bzw. Wishlist steht: ein Cardigan namens Parsley Sage.
Ich sah die Bilder auf der Anleitungsseite und war sofort verliebt in diesen Sommercardigan:

Als Garn in der Anleitung wird ein wunderschönes Leinen-Garn angegeben, das mit Sicherheit ganz toll fällt (wie ja auch auf dem Bild zu sehen 😉 Ich entschied mich aber in meiner überschwänglichen Vorfreude für Cascade 220 Heathers – auch ein schönes Standardgarn (hier in der Farbe Indigo Frost), allerdings eher wärmend und ziemlich leicht.
Naja. Ich hätte es mir vor Beginn evtl. besser ansehen sollen welche Wolle benutzt wird, so bin ich mit dem Ergebnis optisch zwar zufrieden, allerdings habe ich nun keinen Sommercardigan für den Strand, sondern eher einen für Herbst/Winter mit extra-langen Ärmeln (das mag ich besonders an diesem Oberteil).
An und für sich ist das aber ein sehr schönes Basic-Teil im Kleiderschrank und für nächstes Jahr Sommer habe ich mir vorgenommen Parsley noch einmal zu stricken – dann mit dem richtigen Garn, also Leinen oder Baumwolle.
While I was participating the mystery KAL of Kirsten Kapur, I started a new project which has been on my wishlist for a really long time: a cardigan called Parsley Sage.
I saw the pics on the pattern page on ravelry and wanted suddenly work one for my own.
In the pattern they used a linen yarn and I just ignored the fact, that linen is a perfect summer yarn, cooling and falling down really nice. And I should have taken a similar yarn when substituting it, e.g. cotton. But instead of that, while I was dreaming of my result with this pattern, I took Cascade 220 Heathers (colorway Indigo Frost). It is a good all-day-yarn and I always love to knit with it, but – well – it is definitely too warm and too lightweight for this project. So now I got a beautiful cardigan with extra-long sleeves (I love this fact!) not for beach visits but for the next cold days in autumn/winter.
As it is an absolutely basic cardigan and easy to knit, I will do another one for me for summer – then using the right yarn, linen or cotton 😉
